....I don't think I have ever seen so many ladybirds in this garden, lots of them were a bit sleepy this morning, I think it was a bit too cold for them, it dropped down to 3 degrees in my greenhouse last night.
But once the sun was up it has been a really beautiful day. The robins have hatched in the bird table nest, and although I found 1 dead chick on the floor earlier in the week, they have got 2 surviving chicks, and are working very hard to feed them. I sat out in the garden for an hour this afternoon and noticed we have some Goldfinches nesting, lining the nest with dry moss and feathers they were finding on the lawn.
Alan brought me some Rhodedendrum [how on earth is that spelt?] flowers yesterday, and I am surprised how well they are lasting, I never thought they would be suitable to put in a vase, [or on top of a watering can for a photograph]
Darsh has been occupied all week with the old Motor Home. His friend, Bailey, is doing it up ready to use again, planning to take it down South for the summer. They have been busy changing tyres, fixing up the lights, emptying and CLEANING it. It has been stood at the side of the house for 11 years, just used to dump rubbish in. I was surprised to see how well it is scrubbing up, it's going to the garage for it's MOT on Monday.
Darsh has had a go a fixing our little camper van up, and we are planning to use it over the weekend,
The window blinds were rusted up after all the cold and wet of the winter, he took them to pieces and fixed them again-that seems to be an annual job on the windows. I lifted everything out today and washed and aired all the bedding and seating. Joe is getting very worried, he knows something is going on, he hates that camper van worse than he hates any of the cars.
