My last post....

......before China....Sara it's alllllll yours for the next month, you know my address and you can remember my very musical password?   No deleting of old posts now and the best of luck with the new dashboard.
John, may we wish you a very "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" for next week.  Please remind Sara to give you our present!!!!
Spoke to Selina and she has sent for their visas-good luck to them.
Spoke to Charlotte and got another "please bring me" list.
Not spoke to Matt-hope you are ok not too much work and hope things are allright with the new flatmate.

Darsh gave me some easter flowers and they need to be rehomed today

[It's not only doggies that go bin-diving]

....Speaking of doggies, Joe has a theory that if he sticks to me like glue, so much so that I've fallen over him several times already today, then he won't get left behind....Oh dear another doggy theory that doesn't work.
However he has done an admirable job of clearing up the crumbs from a packet of biscuits that I have just dropped down the stairs.  You can't even see where I dropped them, and I think he even got a lick of the biscuits too.
Darsh is on the phone... surprise surprise...making sure everyone knows we are away... and the house is empty.   I've just made him a nice cup of coffee and the last few biscuits to finish off....hopefully he will think about packing some time soon.

What to do with a wet easter weekend....

....lie in bed till lunchtime....it really is nearly 12 and he was not getting out of bed for anything, no breakfast, no sniff in the garden, bark at the birds...nothing....

...take a long leisurely bath...

...in the puddle on the garage roof..... it's all safe.... the dogs still asleep....
Spend the rest of the day either ironing and packing for your holiday next week....

.....or on the phone.  I'm ready to go(apart from those wretched books Charlotte wants taking that I can't buy anywhere)  Darsh has gone to London....

My blog won't work properly, so I am going to have to put 2 entries in 1 day.... whatever have I done wrong now?

Joe just loves a bit of "poor dog's bacon" a bread crust wiped round the bacon pan and a bit of my egg white that I can't bear to eat.  He usually has to fight off dad for every morsel, but when daddys away....he's a happy dog.

Happy Easter.....

.....It's cold wet and rather miserable here, but it is still early, so who knows, it might brighten up a bit, or not.....

.....the bluebells in the garden are open, very early-maybe a bit too early-they only have a few bells right at the top of the stem, not all the way down as they usually do.  Maybe that is just the ones I have, they grow in a rather cold spot in the garden, and I disturbed them last year digging up a few bulbs for Selina's garden.  I wonder if hers have flowered yet....
This little pot still manages to look very pretty sat on my kitchen window sill though.....

Got our Visas....yippee...

....went back up to Manchester and got them, no problem at all...2 hour drive there, 2 hour drive back, £121 and about 5 minutes at the counter!!!  But we got them.  Went to an "eat as much as you can" Chinese Buffet to celebrate...and he did....and he's been ill ever since.  Never eat pineapple in a "restaurant"(or anywhere else for that matter) if it tastes "fizzy".
Called in at Newlife on the way back and bought me a suitcase, big enough to fit 6 Joeys and the kitchen sink.  Woke up this morning to SNOW, galloped up the garden in my nightie to rescue my orange tree that is just about to blossom and needs to be kept frost-free.  Joe just stood in the warm, watching and refusing to go out and put one single paw in all that wet.  Now it is raining heavily, and he still refuses to go out, but at least the snow has gone.
Sara and John have started their holiday today, they are WALKING round the Ring of Kerry...oh oh!

I picked these Pear blossoms earlier in the week, and the ones in the house have all opened out, whilst their brothers and sisters shiver in the cold.

Joe does not understand the wonders off technology, he can not work out why he can hear Charlotte when he just can't see her at all.  Telephone voices are distorted and frighten him, but Computer voices are realistic and send him charging to the window or front door, barking wildly, especially if she whistles him.

He tries to look under the computer, and thats just plain silly- as if Charlotte could hide under there after all that food she will have scoffed in the last month (as long as she avoided the pineapple)

..... He blames me, he isn't sure how, but thinks I have come up with some sort of trick to get him.  I usually get the blame for most things round here.

Sara went to a pottery painting morning when she was here last weekend.  She painted her pot and then left it there to be fired in the kiln for later collection.  So I had to go and collect my Mothers Day present at the weekend.

......A lizard.....a smiling lizard....who is very happy he is not having to walk round the Ring of Kerry in this weather!!!!!

I thought it was a bumble bee....

....I could see in the middle of the lawn....

......with a tail?.....rooting in the middle of the lawn...in broad daylight?.....

I ran to grab the camera, falling over the "what are we getting all excited about now?" dog on the way.

I zoomed in a close as I could without getting too blurry....definately not a bumble bee!!!
.....And the dog had the added bonus....

....of scoffing my last cream cracker whilst I was otherwise engaged.......

Told you we had mice....
