Back home again....

.....my toes got gradually better until I am back to normal.  One doctor I saw thought I had gout, so after 2 sets of different tablets and quite a change to my diet I seem to be fine again, but I really don't like my evening walks on my own.
We haven't been very far away, just enjoying the local sights...

.....a picnic in the Market place, watching the tennis on the big screen....

.....listening to the BBC Orchestra rehearsals in the cathedral.  Rehearsals watching was free, the actual recording wasn't....guess which one we went to?

.....laughing at the Hare and tortoise auction on the steps of the cathedral.....

We enjoyed a steam rally, even though the weather wasn't very good.  We didn't take a picnic and were disappointed that the food vans were just a "greasy chip van and a "not very nice at all pork pie and sausage roll" van.

....when the sun did come out we sat by the arena to watch the vehicles parade by......

           .....and fall asleep!!!!

I spent a glorious day in the park.  4 hours on the parking meter, spent sat in the sun, drinking coffee, eating ice-cream, wandering along the paths and having a picnic.

Last weekend we went to a local country fair.....this time we took our own picnic, so of course the food stalls there were brilliant....Sods Law....there was a WI stall, the local scout troop and several   good local food vans selling many various foods.
We enjoyed the Llama racing, the sheep show and the Falconry displays.

I even managed to win a prize it the raffle.

We holidayed in Cornwall.....

.....Joe would have hated it, it was far too hot for him, and we were camping, in our little camper....and with Selina and Pete's new little toy.....

.....Olive thinks its great....(but she thinks every things great, its her age.)

......we saw some beautiful sunsets, and my toes were slowly getting better so I could walk quite a bit further....

.....we got to Lands end, Mousehole and Saint Ives....

.....fish and chips, cream tea, and lots of stops at Lidl, the nearest shop to our campsite!

Yes, its been hot...

.....my candles on the bedroom window sill....

Life carries on....

.....that baby gets bigger and bigger every time we see her....

     .....trying to crawl....

.....like her mother, she is not averse to licking her plate.....

.....she can sit up and starting to explore everything within reach.....

.....she also enjoys chocolate rice cakes!

Its been a long few weeks....

.....since I wrote my online diary.  A hard and sad few weeks, Joey the Dog became older, slower and more and more confused.  Darsh took him to the vet and we decided to let nature take her course and not to treat the old boy.  He always loathed going to the vets and the groomers and it was starting to upset him more and more.  He seemed quite happy bumbling around, sleeping all day long and getting up at 4am to demand OUT and breakfast.....

......he loved his Neville blanket and it went everywhere with us, he would look for it and settle down happily on it wherever we put it for him.....

.....we tried to take him on one last holiday in the camper van but as soon as we got to Bristol he started to deteriorate.....it was very hot and it all got just too much for him.

We lost him on July 3rd 2017.

.....one of his last days out, a walk along the canal bank, old and slow but he could walk further than me that day, my toes and ankle were so painful for such a long time....

....he was spoilt, spoilt rotten, and he had a naughty streak that was almost bigger than he was....

....in his younger days he was always ready to play.......

.....and he was very, very pretty....

......I loved him very much and life is quieter, and lonely without him.
