We had a long, but lovely day, in Newcastle.Had to be there by 8.30 to get her gown, it was drizzling at first but stopped and brightened up to give us lovely pics, warm enough to sit about outside and enjoy the wonderful friendly atmosphere. As soon as she took her gown back the heavens opened and it poured all night. We felt so sorry for the 2 ceremonies that followed ours. They all got soaked.
Charlotte looked lovely in her gown but hated the "hat".The students are now longer allowed to wear them to go up on stage just in case they get hurt, so mortar boards are now just an expensive decoration, only used in photographs and to be worn walking to the hall or outside!
