.....Darsh has taken himself off to Australia for 3 weeks, his phone has gone too so the calm around here is just lovely.
We have had some nice weather so I have just enjoyed it, walked in Sutton Park, enjoyed the garden, mooched round the farmers market and visited, (or tried to) the new Birmingham library.
Irene and Robert celebrated their Golden wedding, and it was a lovely evening. A bit nippy, but they had tents full of photographs, Irene's wedding dress, food and a bonfire-of course!
2 wedding cakes, one sponge and one plain. No Sara.... I haven't given away your cake topper couple.....they are still in your bedroom awaiting you big day.
See the bees, they were carried through as a theme on plates, napkins and cakes....get it?
Buzz bees...Busby(s)....Irene and Robs surname.
Same with the wine....it was from the Busby family vineyard in Australia....all the way from ASDA...... just a typical Irene touch.
. Notice the Oscar? It looked fine with all the stickers on, and there was a large "50" on the top star.... that got missed in the photo.
My photos weren't very good, but I know there were plenty of other cameras there!!!!!
Charlotte brought Nev with her, I don't know quite what he was expecting....but he joined in with fine, even if they both went home stinking of bonfire smoke.
Charlotte and I attempted to see the new library, but we were side tracked by lunch in "Bodega" as well as all the entertainment in the city.
Not quite sure I got the point of eggs, nests books and binoculars, but they got a lot of attention anyway...
The Rep is reopened and we had a quick look in. The costumes are all hung from the ceiling.... in frames, along with the hats and shoes. Tthey have a lovely new coffee bar but we were still full after lunch...another days treat.
From the outside the building is huge....10 storeys....as well as a deep Atrium at the front.
There was a whole army of Red people wandering about, dressed in various costumes and characters.
Even a troupe of gymnasts jumping from side of their caravans to the other...all reading their books.
After much outside wandering we tried to get inside the actual library....SHUT....it closed at 4 . We forgot it was Sunday.
Apparently they have had 100,000 visitors in the first week....it would have been 100,002 if we had thought about it!
Suddenly it is wet and cold here.
Charlotte is ill and suffering, not particularly in silence. She has come home to recover.
Nev brought her here this morning and then went to work. She slept soundly, and didn't hear him come back at lunchtime to see how she was.
I had gone to the Optician and Joe doesn't really bark if someone he knows comes to the door, he just stands on the window-sill wagging his tail and grinning.
So poor Nev couldn't get in. He had to turn round and go back to work. I bet he felt like killing the lot of us....especially that dog.
Thing was....the back door was open...he could have come through that way and scared her to death.
Sara....do you remember when Lydia sneaked in and you scared each other stupid....still makes me smile....as I lock the door so no one does that to me.
Selina and Pete are back from Honduras, hoping to see them soon.
Right sat here long enough, better go and see if she is up to any supper.
